Nagelfluhhaus Hirsch

Really great.

The setting was beautiful, and we had everything we needed for a lovely weekend. Ute and Karsten made us feel so welcome, and the food was delicious. We'd happily come back.

We spent a wonderful holiday here. The little brook behind the house and the clean rooms made the stay especially nice, and the food was delicious too. Nagelfluhhaus Hirsch sits in a peaceful, lovely spot, with the neighboring nature reserve right there for long hikes. Ute and Karsten were welcoming and friendly, and could answer all our questions about things to do and see nearby. Such a beautiful part of the Allgäu. We'll return!

We were out on the trails quite a bit and found the restaurant options along the way welcoming and inviting. Back at the guesthouse, the parking right outside was handy, and the Wi-Fi worked well. There’s also a smart TV, microwave, kettle, and a large refrigerator. The hosts’ two dogs and cat were all affectionate and friendly, and even our stubborn livestock guardian dog got along with them. Ute and Karsten welcomed us warmly, and we felt at home straight away. With the nature park next door, it’s a great starting point for hiking, skiing, mountaineering, or mountain biking. Breakfast was generous and varied each day, with fresh eggs from their own hens. There’s a separate dining room if you’d rather have a quiet breakfast, though Ute and Karsten’s friendly conversation and useful Allgäu outing tips made us want to stay at the table. The place was exceptionally clean, clearly something the hosts care about. They also put on cozy barbecue evenings and cook hearty food such as beef roulades. We’re vegetarian, and were welcome to bring our own things to grill. A practical note: the Gunzesried-Säge bus stop is very close, and the ticket included in the tourist tax is handy for daytime trips. Buses are less frequent in the evenings and on weekends. A guesthouse with lots of heart and a family feel. Warm greetings from Stuttgart, we’re already looking forward to coming back! :)
