The room was spotless, and the view was lovely. The hotel is beautiful and right beside Blankenburg Castle, about a 15-minute walk from the train station. My only issue was the slow Wi-Fi.

We stayed here for a wedding, and the location was lovely. The reception staff were nice, and our room was clean, but it got much too warm. Opening the windows let flies and mosquitoes in, while the Wi-Fi was very weak. Dinner was only okay, with a small portion and salad that didn't taste fresh. I wouldn't choose it first for a getaway.

We spent a week here as a little hideaway for our 60th wedding anniversary and my 80th birthday. The team at the “Schlosshotel” arranged a small party for our anniversary, then a lovely reception the morning of my birthday, when my family arrived as a surprise. My special thanks to the hotel team, especially Mrs. Wolff, who organized it all so thoughtfully. The hotel is special, the staff were great, and we really enjoyed our stay among the typical German Tudor houses in the “Harz Mountain Range.” Our granddaughters and grandson enjoyed the area too. It’s good for hiking and biking in summer, and skiing in winter, with towns in the German Tudor style nearby, including Blankenburg and the UNESCO world culture of “Quedlinburg.” We’d happily come again.
