Pension & Café Benz

We left before eating or drinking because of how we were treated. When my two-year-old son came back with his grandmother after looking at the Christmas tree, he touched the cloth on an empty table and moved it a little. The employee immediately told us to watch him more closely because this wasn’t a kindergarten. There was only one other table occupied, we were quiet, and we weren’t bothering anyone. The employee then ignored every attempt we made to speak with her. On arrival, the short, blonde-haired employee had given us only a half-hearted, disinterested greeting, though a nice man took our order. I’ve never encountered such an unfriendly attitude toward children. If my child isn’t welcome or is seen as disruptive, we don’t want to eat there. Maybe they should put up a sign saying small children aren’t welcome. Since this woman has had other negative reviews, perhaps she should reconsider whether this is the right job for her.

The supermarket, the Great Castle, and the Devil's Wall are all just a few minutes away, and the garden is beautifully landscaped. I stayed for a week and felt completely welcome and comfortable. Even though several delays meant I arrived six hours after the agreed check-in time, I was greeted warmly and professionally and shown around.

The place is simple but good, and the hosts put real effort into looking after their guests, so it’s easy to feel comfortable here. Breakfast is good and plentiful, and the cakes for cafe visitors are worth recommending too.

We spent a few nights here and felt very comfortable. The rooms were spotless and the beds comfortable. It’s very quiet, right on the edge of the forest. There’s free parking, and the town is a 10-minute walk away.
