The area is lovely for hiking, and the price seemed okay. We paid €15.50 for baked trout with fries. There was also a fish sandwich with baked trout and fries for €11. The trout tasted only of lemon, and the fries had no seasoning. We’d asked for the order without remoulade, but a little dollop was still put on the fish. Staff said we’d have to pay extra if, as pregnant women, we couldn’t eat it, which was a difficult situation.

After lunch we took a little walk around some ponds, and it made for a perfect day. We’d gladly come again. At the Klosterfischer self-service snack bar, the staff were very friendly and gave us helpful advice. The trout fillet in batter, fried potatoes or fries, and Bismarck herring in a roll were all very good. The cake tasted great too, though the slices were a bit small.

The children loved the idea of selling fish food for the carp ponds. The woman at the counter was very nice, and the prices were reasonable. We had coffee and ice cream, and the fish and dishes we saw looked good.

The location is lovely, but I wouldn’t recommend the coffee or cake at all. We came for those, and the hot chocolate was awful, just industrial powdered stuff. The cake slices were tiny and overpriced, served on paper plates, and certainly didn’t seem homemade. It’s self-service. What a shame.

The waitresses were super friendly :) You can ask to have a shot of liquor added to your coffee or hot chocolate. The raspberry sponge roll is well worth trying.
