Hotel Anker

This was our first stop on a two-night walking holiday with Inntravel. The rooms were very comfortable, with outdoor seating, and the location worked well. There’s no coffee-making setup in the room, but a coffee station near reception was open for part of the day. Breakfast had a nice continental selection plus a couple of hot egg dishes. You’ll probably be happiest here if you like cats, since Amy the hotel cat has free run of the dining room 🐱😳

The owners were so kind and explained things helpfully. Our room was clean and cleaned every day, and breakfast was good, prepared by the owner. Smokers can ask for a first-floor room, which comes with an outdoor garden space for themselves. There are lots of good reasons to stay here. Thanks to the hotel owners.

The room was nice, and the nearby beach is well worth visiting. But the price felt too high for what the hotel offers, and breakfast disappointed us, with no orange juice, scrambled eggs, and so on. The whole stay felt impersonal, and the hosts came across as very lacking in empathy. There was a death in our family, so we wanted to cancel. They showed no flexibility and asked for an 80% cancellation fee, so we went to the hotel anyway. There were no condolences or anything, which I’d have expected, though I don’t personally care much about that sort of thing.

The hotel is lovely, with spacious rooms, and I’d otherwise recommend it. But as someone with allergies, I found it an absolute no-go that the cat wanders around the breakfast room.
