We came here to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary, having booked through booking dot com. The receptionist kept calling me “Mister” throughout the stay, even after I explained that I’m a woman and said her way of speaking felt rude. She apologized, saying the booking showed no gender, but continued doing it. Whether that was insensitivity or rudeness, the treatment was unacceptable and left me feeling disrespected.

The place itself was clean, but I never felt welcome. Breakfast wasn’t worth the price, and I wouldn’t recommend it. When one of the kids was coughing, we got a remark along the lines of “oh, bad, the kid coughs, that’s not right, covid.” The bad manners and mood, especially with people who don’t speak German natively, were awful. It felt like we were bothering them the whole time. We’ll never come back.

We’d happily stay here again. The staff were really friendly, and drinks were available from the fridge at fair prices any time of day or night. Our Italy room was clean and beautifully furnished, and the breakfast buffet had just about everything you could want.
