Spacious Apartment in Boltenhagen by the Sea

The cleaning before departure was a surprise: we had to clean the apartment thoroughly, which I hadn’t encountered before. I was also disappointed that bed linen and towels cost extra. I’d seen that arrangement before, but thought they were now included in the price, as they are elsewhere in Europe. Aside from those complaints, we had a relaxing stay in a very nice, peaceful holiday complex.

The terrace has a magnificent view, and the walk to the beach is incredibly short. The view from the apartment is perfect too. With the window open, traffic is a bit noisy during the day, but at night it’s quiet and you can hear only the sea. We spent four nights in Dünenblick holiday apartment, Apartment 17. Booking and collecting and returning the keys all went smoothly, and the staff were very friendly. The bathroom was exceptionally clean, with a really roomy shower and normal water pressure. The Murphy bed was okay, though the mattress is very hard, so you have to like that. The apartment is functional and has basically what you need, but it’s not really set up for living in around the clock. It’s fine for a rainy day. If you’re planning a big meal, bring a frying pan from home, because the one provided was unacceptable. For a short stay, the welcome pack was enough: three dishwasher tablets, a sponge, a dish brush, a cloth, a map of the parking area and building, keys, and Wi-Fi passwords. Stay a few days longer and you’ll probably need to buy more. The only real drawback besides the frying pan was the vacuum cleaner. It was such a heavy beast, like nothing I’ve handled in at least 20 years. A mosquito net or curtain for the terrace would be great. Those are minor quibbles for a holiday stay. Aldi, Markant, a supermarket similar to Edeka, KIK, handy if you’ve forgotten your towel or swimwear, and Tedi are all within walking distance. You can follow the beach promenade into the town center for restaurants, clothing shops, and souvenir stores. There’s also a folder in the apartment with useful contact details and ideas for excursions nearby. We had a truly wonderful stay and would love to return.

Everything went perfectly again, and we had a perfect holiday in a lovely apartment. The team was super friendly. Thanks again for fitting us in at such short notice. We’d be happy to come back. Keep it up 🥰👍

We liked the little box of kitchen basics and dishwasher tablets, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly, even though it was unsecured and reception gave us a card with a username and password. We stayed for a few days in apartment 7, building 1, "Dünenblick" (Dune View). It has two bedrooms, a kitchen, a modern bathroom with a large shower, and parking, so it feels worth the money. The spot is fantastic, right by the beach and near the city center. One thing that really bothered us was the roofer working on the second floor of building 2. Drilling or something similar started at 7:30 in the morning, making it impossible to sleep in. Reception could have warned us. We’d gladly return and have already recommended the place to our friends.
