No hot water or internet for two days. The room was okay...

The apartment felt short on coziness, and there’s no Wi-Fi or nearby hotspot. If you stay more than a night or two, bring plenty of mobile data. The mattresses in the main bedroom are so worn that back pain seems practically guaranteed.

The apartment is a difficult climb for me at 79, with 30 steps up to the second floor. The stairs to the children's room are distracting, too. Inside, it feels cramped and winding, despite the very flattering wide-angle photos of Apartment 12. The main street isn’t quiet either. The bedroom window frames and the window by the kitchenette could use a clean.

The amenities are top-notch, including a 46-inch LCD TV and a balcony. It’s close to the beach, and despite being on Ostseeallee, the apartment is very quiet. There’s a supermarket with a bakery 500 meters away, while the town center is about 1.5 kilometers off.

We stayed with our two boys, and the apartment was spotless and modern. The value for money was fantastic, especially given the service and how close it is to the beach.
