For somewhere near Bonn university, this is a great pick. It's clean, affordable, and set in the forest. Strongly recommend it.

They have vegan, vegetarian, and other food choices, and it's a great base for group seminars. I'll be back soon.

During my voluntary social year (FSJ), I spent two weeks here. I wasn't ready for the first week, so here's what I wish I'd known: my room had three beds, while the others were doubles, and each room had a little sink and mirror. The window in mine let in a draft. Sound carries everywhere, and the walls seem paper-thin. In my building, the toilet was in the hallway, along with three shared showers. Each shower had its own partition, so nobody could see you. Towels and bed linen were provided, but there's no hairdryer. The food wasn't bad, though quite a few people in my group got stomach aches. Parking is free and available. That's what comes to mind, and I hope it helps answer the questions I had before going.
