Ferienhaus Loreleytal

The owners gave us such a warm welcome. We only arrived yesterday and are planning to stay for two weeks, and the apartment is really lovely. It has a dining room, bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and a terrace where the oleander looks beautiful. We can see the Rhine from one side and the mountains from the terrace.

The Rhine is right outside the apartment, and breakfast tastes even better with that view. Mr. Becker welcomed us warmly for our two-night stay. The apartment is fully furnished and everything else was fine, though the bathroom is a little small. The railway line directly in front of the building is the one minor drawback. We can definitely recommend the apartment.

There’s plenty of public parking right outside, and it was easy to get to all the attractions. We had a wonderful time and felt comfortable in the upstairs apartment from the start. It was very clean and cozy, with everything we needed, including towels and bed linens. The host was friendly and accommodating. The railway line is there, but I should have expected that from the photos, and it was perfectly fine for a few nights. Anyone who knows the Loreley Valley infrastructure will know it’s rarely possible to live right on the Rhine without a railway line. For smokers, the lovely balcony is also non-smoking, for understandable reasons. Smoking outside is no problem, since you rarely run into anyone else there.

The trains take some getting used to, but they’re bearable for a few days. For self-catering, the place was adequate, with what we needed, and the surrounding towns were easy to reach. In winter it got very cold because the heating was turned off overnight. The water also never got very hot. When we asked about it, we were only told it was 38 degrees Celsius.
