Hostel Bad Salzig

From our room we could see a castle at the top of the hill, which was fascinating. The room, location, and host were all great, and we had a really pleasant stay. Thanks so much!

Really good value, with a lot more included than I expected, and everything was clean. The other guests were great too. Being able to check in outside the usual hours was a real relief while I was on my way. Only letdown: the Alpacas were on the far side of the building 😭. The dorm beds are pretty noisy, so I regretted forgetting my earplugs.

A comfortable place to stay, with good service and familiar surroundings.

The location made getting around so easy, with the train station just a short walk away. I explored towns along the Rhine, the Mosel Valley, Luxembourg City, and even places in northern Germany, and the train links from the hostel were fantastic. There’s also a wonderful cycling route beside the Rhine through lovely villages and towns, and riding from Mainz to Koblenz is a joy. I spent two lovely weeks at this cozy hostel in the middle rhine 🥹. The upper-floor views were great, especially the green meadow and the alpacas grazing. I could watch the stars from my room’s terrace every night 🤩. The place was clean and had a warm, friendly, international feel. Andi, the owner, was so kind and helpful, and really made an effort to make everyone feel at home. My one regret is not staying longer. I can’t wait to come back next summer. Danke schön 🌸🦋😭🪴
