Hotel Inselhof Borkum

It was okay.

After long days at the construction site, Inselhof Borkum is somewhere I can come back to and switch off. The rooms are clean, beautifully furnished, and high quality, with a modern, cozy, stylish feel. The beach is a short walk away, so even while I'm here for work, each day feels a little like a vacation. I'm on the island for work as a construction manager, and the whole team has made me feel welcome from the start. They're friendly, attentive, and helpful, and you can tell they put their heart into looking after guests. The hotel seems professionally run and very well maintained. Beautiful rooms, great location, warm staff, and a real sense of comfort. A clear 10 out of 10. Anyone looking for a place on Borkum for work or a holiday can't go wrong with Inselhof. The staff were always friendly and helpful, but we won't return, and under these conditions we won't book any more hotels from the BLT group. It's very noticeable that the hotel is no longer privately run. With fewer staff, the quality we were used to doesn't seem possible anymore. This was our third stay at Inselhof, and we found that many things had gone downhill. The breakfast buffet had less choice, with no fresh egg dishes or freshly squeezed orange juice. Room service was inadequate: towels were changed and trash emptied every two days, but there was no bathroom or other room cleaning. Bags of dirty laundry, towels and bed linens, and vacuum cleaners were left in the hall outside rooms and by the elevator for several days, despite storage rooms being available. The dirty stairwell wasn't swept daily, and there seemed to be nobody responsible for it. The stylish rooms are also deteriorating without regular repairs or maintenance. At 250 euros a night, the price no longer feels justified.

The late breakfast, available until 11:30 AM, had plenty of choice and got our days off to a great start. The service staff were very attentive. We spent a week at Hotel Inselhof in beautifully sunny weather. Our room was clean and just the right size, and the mattresses were very comfortable. The central location is excellent. We'd love to come back.
