Hotel Rummeni

An old building with incredible charm, right by the main station.

I arrived in the late afternoon to find nobody at reception. There was a sealed envelope with my name on it, containing my room key card and information about breakfast, Wi-Fi, and the island, but nothing at all about checkout time. After a hard day working offshore, I was asleep when, around 10:20 a.m., a rude woman opened my room. I said I wasn't available, but she shouted, “You have to leave the room now!” Those were her exact words. I packed up without even washing my face and left this awful place. I'll return to the island, but I won't go anywhere near your damn hotel again.

We really managed to switch off from everyday life at Hotel Rummeni, and we're already looking forward to next year. The owner and staff were all very friendly and helpful. The new rooms are tastefully renovated, keeping the historic hotel's charm and North German character. Breakfast is simple, plentiful, and delicious, with little dishes that change. There's something for everyone, and they do their best to meet every wish. We definitely recommend the hotel.

I've known this lovely traditional hotel for decades. I especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the pool table with its self-service bar. The manager is very nice. Unfortunately, I can't say that about the room cleaner. Just after checkout at 10:30 a.m., she came in without knocking while we were still packing and 15 minutes late. She snapped that we had to leave by 10:30, began cleaning, then threw my belt, which was still on a chair, down at my feet.
