Haus am See B&B

Simone was flexible with our check-in after a long day of travel, and helped us with directions and suggestions for somewhere to eat. We only saw her at arrival and briefly at breakfast. The house has a car park out front, and the breakfast room had pizza takeaway menus plus a drinks fridge with a price list and honesty box. This feels more like a very small hotel with breakfast than a traditional B&B. Each ground-floor or basement room, below the hosts' living quarters, has its own outside entrance and an interior door to the breakfast room. Our family room was clean, comfortable and modern. It was at the back and mostly below ground, but still got plenty of natural light from a high window spanning the room above the bed and the glass entrance door. The outside blind kept out light and bugs, so we could leave the door open at night for fresh air. The bathroom was clean and modern, with a shower. Outside breakfast, the only places to sit were the bedroom or a two-person outdoor sofa by the entrance. Breakfast was served until 9am. There was a coffee machine with choices including espresso, latte, cappuccino, coffee and milk, plus juices and a basket for each room with cold options like rolls, fruit, cheese, meats and eggs. I recommend the B&B for the clean, comfortable room.

The host was amazing and the service excellent. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the location worked really well for Phantasialand, which you can walk to. It's also close to the town, Bruhl Castle and some nice restaurants.

Phantasialand is just a short walk away, and the train station isn't far if you're heading to Bonn or Koln. We stayed in the Bleibtrau see room, which has its own entrance and a really nice bath tub. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade items. Simone was a very friendly hostess and gave us excellent restaurant advice for the area.

The Bleibtreu See room had a great bed and bath, really relaxing. Simone welcomed us and, even though it had been 9 years, still recognized us. We had a great stay, and breakfast was very good, with delicious homemade things. It's perfectly located for Phantasialand, Bonn or Koln. We won't wait another 9 years to return 😁.
