The garden is lovely, and the building feels like it belongs in our village. I’ve only been inside once, very briefly as a little girl, but I’ve heard it may be demolished. With all its history, that would be a real shame. I hope they find a good future for the property, both for the building itself and for how it could be used. It’s a beautiful, imposing house 🏡.
I found the rates fairly inexpensive, and the food was good. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, unlike anything I’d experienced before. The rooms are basic, with no TV, but they were fine for me since I spent most of my time outdoors. I stayed several days about a year and a half ago, and I’d come back if I’m in the area.
What a shame, it was a great house. It has been closed and sold since January 1st, 2017. The new owner is a property development company, and the plan is to demolish it and build single-family homes.
