The apartments are lovely and very family-friendly. Each one has a full kitchen, and there’s an optional breakfast buffet.

We loved the pool and sauna, and the apartment was cosy with a well-equipped kitchen for simple dinners. There’s an indoor and outdoor playground for children in the park, and having parking right there made things easy. We had a great three days with my husband and young child. The resort is right in the centre of Braunlage, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. We also enjoyed the snow at Wurmberg, where the slopes are good for beginners.

The scenery is beautiful for hiking with older kids, and you can also take the steam train up to Brocken, the region’s highest point, or ride the cable cars into the hills. We spent ten days at Hapimag in Harz, a location that works especially well with children. Our room was comfortable, and we liked it enough to extend the stay by two nights.

A lovely spot for a winter getaway, with a sauna and pool. There’s also a place for kids to play, with billiards, Guenther Lego, and everything you might need for a great stay.
