Haus Heine

The price is far too high for what you get, and the value for money just isn’t there. The house is large but old. The rooms were cold and incredibly damp, and there was cold water and mold on the shower curtains. The sauna worked, but it’s tiny and expensive, there’s no outdoor shower, and you need enough coins to use it. Bring a flashlight, as it’s easy to trip. The pictures are misleading, though the place doesn’t look quite as bad in person. We were a large group, and this was by far the worst house we’ve stayed in in the Harz Mountains. The old pots barely had any lids, there were no spices or coffee, though there were plenty of coffee filters. They didn’t communicate with us closely, since our visit was some time ago. Nobody mentioned that the sauna cost extra. We vacuumed the house as requested and always treated it and its furnishings with care. I strongly advise against renting this house in the future.

We had a group stay, and the house had everything we needed. It’s beautifully designed and kept very clean and tidy. A great choice for a larger group.

The sauna was a real highlight, and we made good use of it twice. The beds were comfortable, and the whole place was very clean. I also loved the tasteful decor at Haus Heine, which stood out compared with many holiday rentals. We went last weekend with a big group. Having a bathroom in every room was especially handy with small children, who didn’t need to walk around at night. The common room felt a bit small for the number of guests, and four stovetop burners weren’t enough when the house was full. Still, I had a lovely stay. Thanks!

That terrace view was breathtaking, and getting in and out was easy. We were 17 people, and the room arrangement worked really well. The house was beautifully furnished and clearly well cared for. The only drawback was the large kitchen’s dishwasher. It seemed old and needed to be run twice to get the dishes clean. That didn’t change my positive impression of the house.
