ACHAT Hotel Braunschweig

The bed was probably the weakest part of my stay: it was small and the mattress was very thin. My room looked onto an interior terrace with a fountain, which wasn't ideal, though it closed fairly early each night, the other guest wasn't too loud, and the fountain was switched off overnight. The hotel is right by the central station and the tram and bus hub, a handy base for exploring the city. The room had the usual things, including A/C, a TV, and a small fridge, and it was pretty clean. Wi-Fi was amazing, breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly. Nothing else to complain about. A kettle for making coffee would have been nice.

There was a really varied breakfast, from fresh meats, fruit, and honeycomb to breads, pastries, and most cooked options. The hotel was spotlessly clean, too. My room faced the atrium, so although the hotel is across the road from the train station, it was completely quiet. The beds were comfortable, I slept well, and the room temperature was fine.

A good choice for business travelers. It's near the main railway station, though not really in the city center.

The room had a single bed only about 80 cm wide, the narrowest I can remember sleeping in at a hotel. Housekeeping came in 20 minutes before checkout without knocking, and at checkout there was nobody at the front desk. They were busy eating breakfast, which starts getting cleared away 10 minutes or more before the scheduled end. Breakfast costs €14 for a decent selection, though it wasn't very fresh. Parking is $12, which seems ridiculous when there's free parking less than 100 yards away. Overrated and overpriced.
