BS Living Apartment 1

The apartment was cold when we arrived, with thin summer blankets and no heat on. A neighbor eventually told us there was a gas boiler in the basement, so we managed to warm the place a little on the second day. The landlord hadn’t told us about it despite our immediate complaint, and turned the heating down during the day because of gas prices, leaving it cold again in the evenings. The windows were completely wet inside after the first night. I developed severe bronchitis and have been unable to work for almost three weeks. As someone self-employed, that’s a complete disaster. The place could be cozy with some effort, but as it is, it’s unacceptable and even dangerous. Even the apparently newly renovated bathroom with its glass-enclosed shower can’t make up for it. There were serious problems with the furniture too. When a friend opened an upper cupboard, it nearly fell on her. It was held to the wall on the left by a single screw and otherwise rested on a small ledge made by the tiles. She stopped it falling until we helped, taking out the glasses and shelves and carefully leaning the empty cupboard back onto the ledge. This dangerous piece of furniture wasn’t removed until two nights later. The rest of the apartment was poorly equipped. The dining table was crooked, with one leg barely holding up, and too small for more than four people. There were only four chairs as well. The bedroom had a double bed, and the small room had bunk beds, probably fine for children but only moderately suitable for adults. The kitchen had very little equipment, no spices or coffee, and not even a roll of kitchen paper. A coffee maker and toaster arrived after two days, and cutlery was sparse and incomplete. Dishwasher tablets were counted out. We had to buy toilet paper when it ran out after two days and nights. For five of us there were only two bath towels and two hand towels. A few more small hand towels were bought and brought over on the third day, but we had to wash and dry them before using them. The dining table’s picture frames held crookedly inserted calendar pictures, and the formerly white woodchip wallpaper was stained in places. The TV didn’t work, even for someone able to speak and read Polish. The sofa bed was worn out, barely held its tension, and sagged almost to the floor, so it wasn’t really suitable for sleeping. We had to carry a folding guest bed up from the basement ourselves.

We found this holiday apartment by chance while looking for a place for our guests during a family celebration. They felt very comfortable there. It was very clean and modernly furnished, and the beds were comfortable. We’re all set for the next party!

The apartment was clean and superbly furnished, with everything we needed. Aldi and a bakery are a 10-minute walk away, and the train to the city center takes 25 minutes and stops almost right outside. Arriving and leaving were hassle-free, and communication was excellent. I’d gladly stay again.

The apartment was neat, clean, and very spacious. There’s no washing machine, and the shower leaks a little. Still, it’s a nice place and I’d highly recommend it.
