Hotel Ritter St. Georg

I wouldn’t go back or recommend this place to anyone. After travelling for 12 hours, I arrived to find there was no reception in the afternoon. You couldn’t call anyone, only message on WhatsApp. If your phone is dead and you’re alone, apparently you’re left to sleep outside. There was no breakfast when I checked out in the morning, and still no receptionist despite one being expected. Eventually they picked up, said they didn’t care, then hung up while I was still speaking.

The people were kind, and the hotel itself is good. An attendant came in the morning, and a gentleman at the restaurant helped me sort out the entry. But getting in was a mess: I arrived at 8 pm to a locked main door with nobody around, and the phone numbers and network weren’t working. You have to phone someone to get the codes for the boxes on the door that hold the keys to the main entrance and rooms. There were no English instructions or process. The hotel should improve this and contact guests arriving that day to ask when they’ll get there. It closes after 1 pm, which is a bizarre setup for international travellers.

I really enjoyed the room on the top floor. Very nice hotel room. Bis zum nächsten Mal!

I got there at 21h and had a long wait outside for the entry code. The email had sent the wrong code and didn’t include my room number. Once inside, I found old, empty cans on the floor by the room door. The room was dusty and noisy, and the carpets look like they haven’t been cleaned in centuries. Dirty and far too expensive for what it is. Avoid this place.
