The boat's charm comes with some cramped quarters, low ceilings and thin walls, so you may hear other guests coming and going if you're sensitive to noise. Still, waking to seagulls and the sound of waves, with a river view, makes for a real hit if you're after the unusual experience of sleeping on a boat.

The room, or kajute, is charming and romantic, with a comfortable bed, several electrical plugs and a tiny private sink. The boat and room feel very welcoming, and the family hosts are so friendly. It's a peaceful, contemplative place. In the morning there's a free Muesli bar, and a donation helps them replace the food each day. There's coffee too, plus a mini bar and snacks that you pay for. The shared toilet and shower are small, as you'd expect on a boat, but very modern. To get to the boat, ring the doorbell on the larger red boat de Liefde and the host will come to get you. You can rent good, modern bikes for 7€ per day, and the city has safe cycling infrastructure everywhere. Thank you so much for having me. I'll definitely be back!

A unique place to stay in Bremen. It's a little far from the city centre, but they provide simple bikes to help you get around.

The owners are really nice, and being right on the river feels calming and relaxing. It's a cool-looking place to spend a night or two if you want something a bit different from the usual accommodation.
