Staying outside the main complex was the frustrating part of our trip. The buses were slow and infrequent, and walking was the only other convenient way to reach the pools and attractions. Once we moved into accommodation on the complex, things improved a lot. We could step straight into the fun without worrying about transport. The place itself is incredible. Tropical Islands Berlin has a beautiful indoor rainforest, pools, slides, and lagoon areas, with lots of activities and themed spaces for families or anyone wanting a fun, relaxing break. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the facilities were clean and well maintained. We especially loved the roomy pools and spa areas. It's worth visiting, but I'd recommend staying on the complex to make the most of your time.

We visited at the end of December 2025 with two kids, and everything was perfect. I'd seen online reviews that made me worry about the temperature, but the Dome and water were both kept at a really comfortable level. It felt cosy and warm inside, just right. The area was neat and clean, the food court was nice, and the kids had a great time. I highly recommend it, especially for a winter visit.

For the price, I think this place is great. We arrived around 10 and left around 20, and the time flew by. Our 4-year-old was amazed, and there was lots of fun for us adults too. The varied sauna landscape was great, and the reception and spa staff were kind and accommodating. It was obviously very busy. With capacity for multiple thousands of people a day, that seems expected. I only have a few complaints: a healthier food selection would be great, since people are likely to eat several meals there, and a bit more variety beyond fried food would help. During peak hours it was also hard to find a clean table in the food court. The massage rooms felt a bit cold, which was strange because everywhere else was very warm.

The biggest downside for me was losing my wristband. It didn't fit properly and kept coming open, until it finally went missing. I reported it to the Lost&Found desk, thinking I might have to pay a fee for losing it. I didn't realize adult wristbands have a 200€ credit limit. I'm not sure whether children's bands have one too. Someone found mine and charged 160€ for food and drinks, and I had to pay because you cannot leave without paying. They should make the bands more secure on the arm and think about transaction safety. We loved the visit as adults and children. There was loads to do and explore, and my favourite was the outside Amazon area, with warm, steamy water while it was - 7°C outside. We arrived around 12 noon on a Sunday, when lots of people were coming in, but only one desk was open for day ticket check-in. Another desk would have helped the flow. All the nearby sunbeds by the beach pool were already taken, so I'd suggest arriving at opening time, 8am, if you want the best spots.

For the price, I expected better quality, upkeep, and guest management. The whole visit felt too focused on making money from food and retail, and not enough on a comfortable recreational experience. The food was overpriced and mediocre, and the large restaurant and shop areas felt more commercial than relaxing. Water attractions were average and didn't stand out compared with other places in the same price range. The beach and relaxation areas were frustrating too. People left towels and bags on many loungers for hours to reserve them, so newcomers had trouble finding anywhere to sit. The indoor rainforest looked appealing at first, with lush plants and atmospheric lighting, but it was fairly small and had almost no proper seating among the greenery. It wasn't really somewhere you could relax in nature. Lockers also made a poor first impression: even though I arrived early in the morning, most were already taken, and many of the remaining ones were out of order. That caused unnecessary stress at the entrance.
