The buffet was the part we’d been looking forward to, but it was packed and kept running out of food. We went up five or six times and each time the trays were empty, so eventually we gave up and ordered from the menu. A worker explained later why the buffet had gone so badly. It was a shame, though the food we did get was good and the price was okay. The baguette starter was fresh and tasty, and the chicken schnitzel with fries was really good.

The place looks old-fashioned, but don’t let that put you off having dinner here. The German-style barbecue is cooked over a wood fire right in the middle of the restaurant, and it gives the pork and beef a really nice flavor. The food is delicious.

The grilled meat is very good and sourced locally. Our hosts were really friendly, and the rooms were simple but clean and good value for money. There’s parking nearby, with a garage available too. The area is great for bikers and cyclists.

The food here is really good. I especially liked the big cut of meat cooked over the wood fire, called Spießbraden. Have a look at other people’s photos on Google maps.
