The apartment is newly furnished and equipped, and the location is good, with shops nearby and the dike and harbor about 1.1 km away. But we ran into quite a few problems. The patio door wouldn't open, so we couldn't use the patio, which was dirty and had a Christmas tree, a milk carton, batteries, and other trash on it. The front door stuck and took force to open. In the living room, a bulb in the floor lamp was out, the large blind wouldn't close, and the heating thermostat knob didn't work. The apartment was cold and only warmed up slowly during our stay. The large burner on the stove was also out of order. There was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom from an open drainpipe at the washing machine connection, and there was an ant problem. We also found no documents or brochures, unlike what we're used to in other holiday rentals. We mainly stay in apartments and aren't especially demanding or meticulous, but these defects were noticeable.

The location worked well for a short break. It's in a quiet cul-de-sac, about 100 meters from a playground and 200 meters from the dike and lagoon. There's a restaurant nearby, along with an Edeka supermarket that sells bread rolls and groceries. The house itself could have been great, but it felt neglected inside and out. Dust had collected in corners and on the ceilings, the wallpaper was peeling, and the paintwork looked careless. The furniture was ancient, the small amount of crockery was unclean, and the bed linen and towels cost an extra €60 but were musty and mismatched. Worst of all, the beds were extremely creaky and uncomfortably worn.
