The balcony was one of the biggest disappointments in the apartment we booked with a south-facing one. The parasol was broken, leaving us without shade while the room reached 29 degrees Celsius, and the sun lounger was broken too. The railing was dirty and weeds were growing there. We mentioned this when leaving because we didn’t want maintenance workers in the apartment again. We were told the balconies were due to be cleaned soon, but shouldn’t that be part of the usual cleaning? No compensation or goodwill offer was made. We stayed at the Astra Maris for a week. The dike and Perlebucht beach were only a five-minute walk away, breakfast at the attached hotel was good, and the staff were attentive and very friendly. But the website and apartment description said towels were included, while a towel change cost an extra €15. We only learned that at check-in, which was surprising at this price. We also came back to find workers in our apartment while we were out, including window cleaners and someone checking the smoke detector. Nobody had told us in advance. Luckily we hadn’t left valuables behind. At this price, an in-room safe should be standard.

There’s a small garden and barbecue area, and parking is right in front of the house. Petersen bike rental at Föhrer Weg 9 is just a few meters away, and cycling gets you to the harbor in about seven minutes. The 360° bar and family lagoon pool are also only a few minutes on foot, as is the dike, though bikes aren’t allowed on it until October because it’s reserved for pedestrians. The apartment was clean and comfortable. It didn’t have a balcony fan or parasol, though, so bring those along. Otherwise the heat can be hard to bear, especially on the balcony. We passed that information on to hotel reception.

It can get pretty noisy. During our stay the neighbors’ kids were driving toy cars over their wooden floor, which got a bit annoying. Still, these are lovely little apartments, especially when the weather’s bad. Ours was very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen, and having breakfast in the main building about five minutes away was great. I’d definitely recommend it otherwise. 👍

The staff were really friendly, and everything felt just like home. The apartment was very clean and elegantly furnished, with kitchen equipment that all seemed to come from one set instead of a mix from different households. We felt so comfortable and will surely be back soon. Thanks for making us feel welcome.

We had a great stay and have already recommended the place to others. The apartments are lovely and well kept. A second handrail on the other side would help, and dish soap would be handy too. Parking doesn’t always work out, though. We’d still love to come back.
