After driving nearly 2,000 km with our three children, we arrived to find a dirty, run-down apartment with a long list of problems. The listing had promised a newly renovated place with designer flooring in the bathroom, but nothing inside looked renovated, and the flooring was cheap PVC. There was dust everywhere, dirty dishes and cutlery, a filthy coffee maker, dirty pillows, and blood on the mattress. The couch was torn, several blinds were broken and taped together, the balcony railing and refrigerator were broken, and there was no light in the shower, so we had to shower in the dark. There was more as well. When we raised the defects, the landlady said she knew nothing about them and told us to deal with the cleaning company ourselves. She refused to release us from the lease. Only after two witnesses from the rental agency inspected the apartment and agreed it was unacceptable did she let us leave. We left on the second day, as the place was disgusting to us and our children. The landlady had written that we would only be charged for one night, but I had to keep asking for that confirmation and even threatened to call the police. Despite that, she charged us for two nights, final cleaning, and towels, though the lease said those costs were included. Why pay for cleaning a place that was already filthy? We only got part of our money back and have now hired a lawyer to represent us. We had to cut the holiday short and head home because we couldn't find another rental for five people in Büsum. It was a terrible vacation. I strongly advise people to avoid this rental and find somewhere decent.

Everything is walkable from the apartment, which was super clean, and the landlady was friendly. Good value for money, and just right for a short trip to Büsum. Thank you.
