The support from management felt rather basic, and the apartment didn't really live up to the “De Luxe Wohnung” listing on booking.com. Apparently the rentals have changed owners. There was no greeting or welcome like older reviews described; we got the key safe code over the phone. We also weren't given guest cards, which other accommodations provide. At first the apartment looked well maintained, and some furnishings seemed nearly new. But while loading the switched-off refrigerator, we found a slightly moldy residue in the freezer. That's hardly surprising with the fridge off and the doors shut. When we sat down to eat, there were only three forks in the drawers. We found the others when we loaded the dishwasher. The next day, the shower only had cold water. I called the rental agency, and they said they'd fix it. Two hours later it was sorted because the hot water hadn't been turned on. The property management company didn't apologize; I don't think the owners were involved. There were other issues on closer inspection. The bathroom window was stuck and wouldn't tilt open, and the blind cord was inexplicably tangled around the handle. There was nowhere to hang the rather mismatched towels after a shower. The living room had books and video cassettes, but no VCR to play them. There was also a tide calendar from 2022 and outdated Kaltenkirchen advertising brochures. The mailbox still had a weekly advertising paper dated September 30, 2024, though we stayed December 27-30, 2024. It makes you wonder whether housekeeping notices these things. The “children's room” takes up just a few square meters for two children and a toddler or baby, and it's separated from the dining area only by a curtain, with no door. Overall, this wasn't really a deluxe apartment.
