Zum Alten Schulhaus

Lovely little room, just the right size.

Parking is provided, and Wi-Fi is available. Getting onto the road when exiting from the other side can be a bit awkward. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the rooms were clean, with a very comfortable bathroom. The hotel is in an old school building right in the castle grounds.

We were 10 people at the schoolhouse for two nights, September 26-28, 2025, and unfortunately can't recommend it at all. There were cobwebs, an overflowing dishwasher, and leftover rubbish from previous guests in all five double rooms. The place was simply unclean. We still haven't received an invoice or visitor's card for the tourist tax either, though it was meant to be emailed to us. So be careful!

The room felt neglected and wasn't clean. There was barely enough soap in the dispenser for one hand wash, and it had residue left by the previous guest. When we asked questions and requested extra blankets, nobody was around after the young man had checked us in. He'd greeted us warmly, but there was no other staff member to help. We paid the full bill without getting the service we'd paid for. Our complaint brought a short apology, but no solution or effort to make things right. Such a shame. We expected better cleanliness and service, and this was our first and last stay. It didn't feel like hospitality.
