The apartment is so well stocked that we didn't find anything missing. From food in the fridge to a fully equipped kitchen and the other things you'd have at home, it was all there. We can recommend it wholeheartedly and would give it five stars in every category. We stayed for a few days at the end of July and again in December, and felt comfortable from the start. The welcome was warm, with thoughtful things ready for us when we arrived. The roughly 85 m² apartment is clean, comfortably furnished, and suitable for up to four people. There's one large bedroom with an adjustable double bed and two smaller single rooms, plus bed linen. The spacious bathroom has a shower, bathtub, washing machine, and plenty of towels. It's in a quiet residential area just above Burgbernheim, a handy base for exploring. Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Würzburg, Nuremberg, Bamberg, and Dinkelsbühl are all within about an hour's drive, and there is plenty of information in the apartment about other places to visit in the region. The large living room is tastefully furnished and has a small balcony alongside it. The apartment is on the building's first floor, reached by a wide staircase. There isn't a separate entrance, and the friendly, helpful owners live on the ground floor. Parking is available by the driveway in front of the door or on the quiet street outside. One thing to bear in mind is that the first-floor apartment isn't wheelchair accessible, and there's a small step in the bathroom on the way to the toilet. Otherwise, it has everything for a relaxed, carefree holiday. “Perfectly furnished” really does fit.

We felt right at home in this lovely holiday apartment. The hosts were friendly, and the place was furnished with care and had everything we needed, plus quite a bit more.

We arrived to a smile, and the little Easter decorations were subtle and really nice. There was even chocolate on each bed and in the kitchen. Although we hadn't mentioned our 10.5-month-old baby when registering, a crib and highchair were provided without us having to ask. They'd also thought of all the practical things you might otherwise bring along, from soap and washing powder to dishwasher tablets. That first impression was extremely positive.

We felt incredibly lucky to meet owners who treated us like family. Opa and Oma were so fond of our two daughters. They would play with them whenever we came back or headed out for the day. Opa took them to feed the rabbits and play with the cats, and Oma played dolls with them. I felt a little embarrassed asking for so much help with the children, but they were so kind, always telling us how lively and adorable the girls were. The girls still say they miss you and want to see Opa and Oma again. Thank you so much for making such a lasting impression on them. 💗💗💗 A couple of things did cause trouble: the Wi-Fi kept dropping, and the bathtub tap wouldn't shut properly, so water drained away and the tub couldn't be used during our five-day stay. The children had been looking forward to a bath, so that was disappointing. There was a shower, toilet, sink, chairs, lots of cleaning supplies and bath towels in the large bathroom. We tried to be considerate with laundry and cleaning, using just two bath towels and two hand towels for our family of four. After five years of traveling in Germany, we've got used to friendly exchanges with hosts and try to treat their homes with care. Little courtesies can help keep costs down for everyone who needs a place to stay. We were glad to have the washing machine, especially on a long trip. A quick 30-minute wash and spin worked well, and clothes left to dry near the heater were almost dry the next day. The apartment is in a detached house in a garden, with the owners living on the first floor and the rental on the second. Parking in the driveway beside the garden is free, and the living space is separate from theirs. The apartment felt surprisingly spacious as soon as we came in. The entry has a comfortable spot with chairs for sitting while putting on shoes, a really homey detail we don't often see. The kitchen, the first room on the left, was roomy, spotless, and stocked with plenty of good tableware, cookware, coffee, tea, seasonings, and cleaning supplies. Having a dishwasher was especially considerate. The bright dining room had a little bar that worked well for studying or working. The owners had also left fruit, snacks, chocolate, and drinks, even though the price was already affordable. It felt like they wanted to share their home and make friends, not just make money. One of the single rooms was long and narrow, with a wardrobe and ironing board, a small sofa, low cabinet, single bed, and a bookshelf full of books. There was also a little hallway table with candy for the children. Our older daughter loved how cozy and warm it was. The living room was another pleasant surprise, with an L-shaped sofa, a reclining chair and footrest, and a soft rug. More snacks and chocolate were on the table, which made it a favorite with the children. From the balcony, we watched Opa feed the rabbits in the garden in the very cold November weather. We hardly used the balcony ourselves, but seeing him with the rabbits was heartwarming. The large double room had a five-star-hotel feel, with a big bed, wardrobe, low cabinet, footstool, two single sofas, and a small clothes rack. Three people could sleep comfortably there, and the heating kept the spacious room warm. We didn't use the other single room because the children mostly slept with their mother. It was cozy too, with a single bed, sofa, little table, bedside table, potted plant, window, and a low cabinet full of decorations by the entrance. The children wanted to climb into the small loft-like space by the window and make it a secret base, but we stopped them because we didn't know its weight limit. The thoughtfulness showed in the small touches too, like a chocolate bar on each pillow. The surroundings were peaceful, the facilities were top-notch, and the hosts were incredibly kind. If we come back to central Germany, we'd choose this apartment again. We had even hoped to stay here longer if we'd been accepted into the PhD program at the University of Würzburg, but we didn't get the positions. We'll have to visit Opa and Oma again another time.
