The landlord's response that guests should check in advance doesn't sit right with us. The apartment listing really needs to spell out that a restaurant below the window serves food and drinks on weekends and around public holidays. For privacy, you have to shut the windows and pull down the blinds, and the noise can be a problem if you're sensitive to it. We can't recommend staying then.
