The location is the one good thing here. The hotel feels old and wasn't clean, with dust even by the bed, and the service was awful. It also didn't feel very safe.

Once the reservation issue was sorted out, the rest of the staff were professional and helpful, and the stay was enjoyable. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well located. But check-in started badly: the clerk struggled to find our booking and suggested we hadn't made one, despite our confirmation. That was frustrating at the start of the trip and left a lasting sour impression.

Handy for a quick visit to the old town centre. The bed was really hard and came with a small pillow, which didn't suit my broad shoulders 🥹

The breakfast was a real plus, very nice and good quality. The rest was disappointing: staff were rude and unhelpful. When we checked out at 4am, the night staff were asleep, and made it obvious they were annoyed at being woken. Their attitude left my wife feeling very intimidated. The final amount charged also differed from the itemized charges by over €50.

The staff were very friendly, and the room was average. I missed having a kettle with tea and coffee, something common in England. One of our three rooms smelled of smoke. Smoke detectors in the rooms and a more thorough check by cleaners who don't smoke would have helped. A few simple changes could have brought the stay up to five stars for my average expectations.
