We liked it enough to book the hotel again for the return trip. It's a good value, with attentive service and a very good restaurant where both dinner and breakfast were satisfying. The rooms are clean and roomy enough for two, and the family-run place works well for an overnight stop. It's about 4 Kms from the A4 highway.

The separate room made a nice setting for our family-and-friends gathering for a 60th birthday, with lunch followed by coffee and cake. The little kids' menu was cute and kept them entertained. Service was good too. Everyone else in the family enjoyed their different dishes, and this seems a good spot for people who like generous portions and German food. I usually go for sauerbraten with wickelklößen and apfelrotkohl at German restaurants that call their food “homemade,” and I've tried plenty over the years, often for the sauce. Here, the dumplings were delicious and the apple red cabbage was fine, if nothing special. The meat was much too dry for me, and the sauce wasn't what I'd have wanted. It was still okay, just not to my taste, so I can't give it more stars.
