There’s a fascinating collection of East German items from the period of Russian control, plus a great little model German train that circles the garden, a treat for model railway fans. We felt very welcome, and the atmosphere was lovely. It’s a relaxing place and good value for the price. Well worth staying if you’re in the area.

The people were even nicer than the food and beer, both of which were good. The breakfast was a farmer’s spread with bread, cheese, egg and cereal, enough that we didn’t need dinner. Our room was large, and there was safe parking for the bikes. We stayed a couple of days during a bike tour and were glad we booked. It’s a 10 minute walk into town. There’s a quirky collection of all sorts of things, clearly something the guy enjoys collecting, and it’s fascinating to look around. We had to dust off our O Level German, but managed fine. We had a great time, thanks.

A peaceful spot to get away from the rush of everyday life. The host was pleasant, and the German food was good quality with ordinary prices.

The room was okay, but I was there during the recent heat wave and it got very hot on the second floor. There’s no AC.

The owner has turned the hotel and cafe into something like a museum. There are DDR relics as well as lots of other things that make you laugh. Funny place.
