We had room 19 during hot weather, and opening the roof window let in smoke and a disgusting smell from the smoking balcony directly below. We’d love to stay again, but would need a different room guaranteed or for the hotel to become non-smoking. The staff and location were excellent, and both the room and breakfast were good.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were neat and tidy. The hotel is in a great location, with a lovely view of the town and castle from rooms with balconies. The breakfast buffet could have been better.
A lovely view of the Moselle, Cochem, and the castle on the hill, plus a great breakfast with Prosecco included. Our bathroom was across the hallway, but it was private for us, so that was no problem.
That beautiful view across the Mosel to Cochem made me feel like I was in heaven. I’d give the place 10 stars! It was so comfortable, and the staff were superb. In the evening, you could sit on the guesthouse terrace or balcony, with glasses and a fridge full of drinks available. The breakfast buffet was brilliant, with a couple of new items each morning. Coffee was already in a flask when we came down at 8, and we could ask for more, tea, or hot chocolate.
The quiet riverside location meant very little noise in the evenings, and the village center was only a 5-minute walk away. The hotel had just five parking spaces, though, and parking along the riverside can be difficult in peak season. I imagine most hotels and their guests struggle with that, so it still felt like good value for money. The rooms were a bit small, and this was the first time we had some trouble fitting our baby cot, but they had all the facilities you’d expect.
