Kunst Pension Frahm

There’s so much to look at, from the art in the rooms to the pieces by the entrance and out in the garden. Schloss Basthorst and its lovely grounds by the lake are only 100 meters away. Family Frahm made us feel very welcome. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, modern, and beautifully done, and the whole place feels peaceful and spacious, with birdsong all around. There’s ample parking, a modern shared kitchen and breakfast room with a large TV, and plenty of places to sit, eat, or relax on the terrace and in the garden.

We had a great time and found the owners warm and friendly. Basthorst is a tiny village out in the middle of nowhere near Schwerin, but that’s part of the appeal. The atmosphere is lovely and just right for unwinding. Highly recommend it! 👍

The shared kitchen doubles as a comfortable place to gather, and it never felt cramped. We spent two wonderfully restful days here, with the large garden and quiet adding to the sense of escape. Frahm Art Guesthouse has four rooms and an apartment, all with their own design. After staying in plenty of standard hotel rooms, the individual style here was a welcome change. For breakfast, you can go to the bakery in Crivitz, the castle, or Steffen's Kräuterbox (Herb Box) further into the village.

Jana and Michael have been friends of ours for years, and we’ve bought several of their paintings. Their artwork is also displayed throughout the guesthouse, whose rooms are furnished with care and style. It’s a welcoming place to slow down and relax, and the hosts are kind and friendly. We highly recommend staying here.
