We left after just one night instead of staying the planned two. The apartment felt unsafe to us because everything was wood and there was only one entrance, at the bottom, with no way to get outside. It also stayed hot, the polyester duvet and pilled topper were uncomfortable, and the room couldn’t be made fully dark. The apartment wasn’t clean, and the porch was filthy, with green gunk on the stairs and a garbage bag in the stairwell. At least parking was free right outside. We had a junior suite on the top floor. I wouldn’t recommend it, and there’s not much to do nearby either.

The second bedroom was the weak point for us: it had only a cot and sofa bed, which isn’t great for four adults over a longer stay. The rest of the apartment was spotless and furnished in a youthful, modern style. In the first bedroom there was a large bed, two TVs, and a separate toilet and bathroom. Weekends were very quiet, and although there was more street traffic during the week, the windows shut out the noise well. The landlord communicated really well, even sending a farewell text, which you don’t often get. There were drinks waiting in the fridge when we arrived too. Thanks for the warm welcome!

We found a few things that could be better: the shared bedroom had one dining table suited to a family, and one of the beds was an unsuitable inflatable dinghy. There’s no elevator, and the toilet and bathroom are separate. That said, the apartment was very spacious and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, and a double bedroom that worked well.

Our four-legged friend Aaron felt right at home, and we did too. The apartment had everything we needed, and the landlord was very friendly and easy to communicate with. It’s also a great base for lovely hikes. We’d definitely recommend it.
