The food was fantastic, and the service felt relaxed and good. Definitely order the schnitzel. One note for English-speaking visitors like me: the fried meat loaf dish turned out to be a hard-boiled egg with fried potatoes, so there was no meat in it. Still tasty, though. A lovely little German restaurant, worth the trip to Höchster.

There’s a pleasant atmosphere at Zum Schwan, and the portions are generous. Quality was the letdown for me: some sides, like the vegetables and the Rösti, seemed to be frozen, and the minced meat’s texture put me off enough that I stopped eating halfway through. It’s an okay place if you want a lot of food, but I wasn’t satisfied with the ingredients.

Dinner was super delicious, and everyone working there was so kind and welcoming. The place itself felt almost like a fairy tale, and it was really cute and clean.

I can’t speak for the restaurant inside, but the rooms were very old and not comfortable at all.

The staff were super friendly, and service was excellent. The food was excellent too, all local and farm fresh. A pleasant hotel and restaurant.
