Tree Inn - Das Baumhaushotel

A beautiful place for anyone who loves wolves.

The wolves were the highlight, especially seeing them up close, and we’ll definitely be back. We spent three days at the Tree-Inn in Döverden and were absolutely thrilled. The treehouses are available from 3:00 PM, and friendly staff picked us up from the parking lot in a Caddy. We arrived earlier to visit the Wolf Center, which was very informative and had beautiful exhibits. The only downside is that it’s hard for strollers or wheelchairs to get from the top to the bottom. The grounds are very well kept, and the treehouses are fantastic. Breakfast was included, and a delicious, generously filled picnic basket was left outside our door in the evenings. That costs extra, though. Three days with the picnic basket and dinner isn’t exactly cheap, but it’s an experience you won’t forget.

The wolves were more active than we expected in the morning, starting around 7 a.m., and we could even howl along from the treehouse. We learned a lot about wolf packs and had some constructive discussions about nature conservation and agriculture. The Wolf Center staff were consistently friendly, and we were treated kindly throughout. You’re really undisturbed at night. We decided on the very first day that we’d return in a few years. An overnight stay is definitely worth the money. Next time, we’ll try some of the local restaurants too.

We were welcomed so warmly and got to join a park tour right away. It was entertaining and really informative. Everything was perfectly organized, from the golf cart ride to the treehouse to the breakfast basket the next morning. The wolves were visible almost all the time from the treehouse and greeted us with a chorus of howls. A truly unique experience. We’d love to come back! 🫶🏻
