Hotel Beckröge

I first came across hotel Beckröge in 1984, returning from Denmark, and after trying several other hotels in Cuxhaven I’ve always ended up coming back. It’s a family-run place with the hospitality you’d expect. The shoreline is right there, and you can see the ocean and ships from the breakfast room. The rooms are beautiful and very quiet, breakfast is plentiful, and it’s well placed for a shoreline walk or a quick shopping trip. Overnight prices are very reasonable, and WLAN and television are available. Twenty-five years have passed, and the quality and beauty have only improved. I’ll keep staying at hotel Beckröge on my visits to Cuxhaven for many years to come.

We’re already looking forward to coming back for a few days to unwind. Room 13, including the shower, was more than perfect: clean, with a lovely view, and the dike was practically within easy reach. The owners were always there when needed and answered questions, even when it was clear other guests wanted quick service. Breakfast was excellent, and if anything was missing, guests could simply have asked. I don’t understand the negative reviews at all.

We really enjoyed our stay and could recharge our batteries here 💪🏻. Mrs. Beckröge was a kind, helpful, and capable hostess who had everything under control. The hotel is quiet and romantic, in a beautiful listed building that has been run by the family’s third generation since 1933.

I’m very disappointed and want to share what happened to my grandparents here. They were completely ripped off. The breakfast was a disgrace, with very little choice and poor quality. Their room was tiny and unacceptable, and there was mold in the bathroom. When they tried to sort out issues with their stay, they were treated rudely. I can’t recommend this hotel and strongly advise against staying there.
