Pension Döser Strand

The breakfast was generous and clearly prepared with care, and everyone on staff was so friendly. We spent a full week at Pension Döser Strand and really enjoyed it. The room was small but cozy, with a little kitchenette that made it easy to unwind. Thanks for everything, we'd be happy to return. Best wishes from the Ries family.

The low price didn’t make up for the poor service, so I didn’t feel it was good value. I’d been moved from Holter Deel to Döser Strand because I would have been the only guest at Holter Deel. The room I got was small, run-down, and musty, and the smell made it almost impossible to sleep. The bathroom was tiny too.

The location is hard to beat, and we were very happy with our stay. Our room was clean, the beds were really comfortable, and it had everything we needed for sleeping. The hosts were so friendly. Breakfast was more than enough, with nothing missing, and we could make tea whenever we liked in the lounge. We’ll definitely come back for another short trip.

Being close to the beach was the one real plus. The room had dust, cobwebs, peeling wallpaper, and no trim on the ceiling. The wardrobe wobbled, the toilet flush was loose, the outlets weren’t secure, and the mattresses were completely worn out. The whole place smelled damp and musty downstairs, the walls were very noisy, and you could hear the hallway lights being switched on through the gap under the door. The price didn’t match what you got. Breakfast was basic but fine, except things like scrambled eggs and yogurt weren’t replenished once other guests had eaten them. I paid €12 for my dog, but there wasn’t even a food bowl or anything else for him. Free tea and cappuccino were available in the common room, but there was no cup or tap to refill water, so that wasn’t much use.
