Am-Deichtor

We tried the holiday apartment last year and have the holiday home this year. Everything is very clean, the hosts are friendly, and the amenities are practical. The hostess is especially nice and easy to reach with questions. Although it's right by the road, it's very quiet, and the nearby farm doesn't disturb the peaceful feel. We're already looking forward to our 2023 holiday.

The beach is beautiful, with fine white sand, and even though we keep missing high tide, we happily spend the whole day there. Just don't let the seagulls see you've got food. The bike path is lovely, and our nearly four-year-old can manage the ride, though it's quite a way. The older kids can go ahead on their own. Deichtor is away from the crowds, and the farm next door has cows that greet us in the morning. The garage is full of bikes for all ages, including kids' bikes from age four, adult bikes, child seats, helmets, and locks. We moved the house's CD player into the children's room. There are wool blankets and winter duvets in the closet for anyone who gets cold, and Mrs. Gottwald gave us plenty of towels. Ms. Gottwald is always available and looks after us, even with all our special requests. She's incredibly patient. There's lots to do nearby. We went to the seal sanctuary in Norden today, and still have the outdoor pool and boat trip planned. With a longer stay, we'd have plenty of other things to do too. We love it!!!

The garden has a sandbox, slide, and swing, so this is a good place for small children. It's a lovely holiday home in a quiet spot right by the dike.
