Hotel In Der Meile

Nothing at all.

Don't book here! The place seems frozen in the 70s. You enter through a side door into a cluttered vestibule, then climb a narrow staircase to the first-floor rooms. Some rooms were clearly made by splitting up larger ones. I was given a narrow single room with a balcony but no heating. The box spring mattress was the worst I've ever slept on, and the sink only had cold water. There was nowhere to hang towels except the clothes rail. The grimy, moldy shower and toilet were in the hallway, shared with four other rooms. The glasses and mugs were dirty, so I chose to have my morning coffee at the train station instead. The only edible breakfast items were the rolls, sausage, and cheese. The landlady can't handle criticism and spoke very rudely. If that's what you want, you're welcome to book it, but you don't have to. I've learned my lesson.

Our stay at Hotel "An der Meile" on December 14, 2024 fell far below an acceptable standard, and I can't recommend it. I was there with my girlfriend and her 5-year-old son, and we expected much better. The building is very old and sits right above a pub. The noise was especially disruptive at night. Our room was extremely cold because the heating didn't work, which was unacceptable with a child. The toilets were in the hallway, and there was only cold water. The showers were unhygienic. Breakfast was very limited, with powdered milk as the only milk substitute. You could only pay in cash, which is extremely inconvenient these days. The hostess was very rude in response to questions or complaints. Overall, the place was very disappointing.

The fresh bread rolls were the one good part. Everything else felt stuck in the 1970s: the place was dirty, and the furniture, towels, and hallway toilet and shower were disgusting. The room was so cramped we had to step over our suitcase. When I pointed out the problems, the owner showed no understanding. Stay away.
