FeWo Haus Amrum

There was a lot for children to do nearby, and the apartment is right in the center. I did have to do some extra cleaning, though it was acceptable. The construction work directly outside the balcony was the real problem. It began at 6:30 every morning, apparently without a midday break, so sleeping late wasn't possible and we couldn't use the balcony. The stay wasn't nearly as restful as I'd hoped. Locals said the work would continue for a long time.

We've returned to this same apartment several times because it's a lovely place with good furnishings. The bedroom upstairs stays cozy, but downstairs the living and kitchen area never gets properly warm. Even the extra electric heater wasn't enough.

The west-facing position was a real plus, and the apartment itself is very good, with excellent furnishings. I wasn't so happy about there being no Wi-Fi. The two-bedroom setup also felt awkward: the children's room opens onto the balcony and sits beside the living and dining room, while the main bedroom is off the hall. I'd prefer those rooms the other way around.

The apartment is attractive and newly furnished in a modern style, and the insect screens on the windows were especially nice. But it wasn't clean enough when we arrived: there was hair in drawers and cupboards, earwigs in the fridge, and hair and lint all over the sofa.
