Landgasthof Alte Bergmühle

Even without a reservation, we were treated just like everyone else on a busy night. The restaurant was full, so they invited us to eat in the bar, where the service and attention were just as good. Locals came in off the street to watch their soccer team on TV, which brought some colour to the evening. Alte Bergmühle has a cozy, local feel that's hard to come by these days. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a quirky old-fashioned romance, soft chairs, and a bathroom with a lion-footed bath. It felt much better suited to a couples' trip than a business stay, but I enjoyed the atmosphere.

The food really stood out. The chef has put together a masterful menu, and everything I tried was delicious. Staff were incredibly helpful and kept checking that you had what you needed. Some parts of the rooms are dated, but they were clean and tidy.

The antique-style room was lovely, and the price was reasonable for the comfort. The staff were genuinely friendly and focused on looking after customers. The restaurant serves fresh food with excellent, high-end cuisine. I'd definitely recommend staying here and having dinner.

The area is very quiet, and the hotel is close to the old Burg Hayn. It's about a 40-minute drive to the Messe.
