The location is very good, near the train station and main walking street, and the room had a beautiful view. Staff were kind and helpful, and the price was fair. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows weren’t. The shower was OK, though every time we used it, a strange constant noise came from the toilet. We left early in the morning, so we didn’t have breakfast.

I was in town on a business trip. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the main train station, in the Prager Straße area, which is a good place to spend evenings and has plenty of places to eat. The upper-floor rooms have a good view, and the rooms were clean and neat, though average in size. Breakfast had a wide variety to suit international guests, and the hotel also has luggage storage after checkout. I arrived at 2:00 PM, but they wouldn’t let me check in before the 3:00 PM start time. Once check-in began, the rest of the process was smooth. Overall, it was a good experience.

Breakfast was very good, but that was the bright spot in a disappointing stay at Occidental Dresden Newa. I relied on Wi-Fi for work, and it was unavailable in my room for most of the visit. Had I known, I would have booked somewhere else. Laundry was charged by the item, around €6 for one shirt, which wasn’t practical for a longer stay. I also never got a reply to my email asking about a partial refund. The poor communication and missing basic services made the visit frustrating.

The staff were really friendly and answered my questions. My room was clean, quiet, and nice, with a strong shower and plenty of hot water. The curtain didn’t block all the sunlight, which I think may just be a cultural difference here.

Breakfast had a great selection. The room wasn’t especially large, but it was comfortable, with a big window looking out over the city.
