We expected more for the price, especially in the service and spa. On our departure day, before the 12 o’clock check-out, the cleaning staff knocked twice, around 8am and again around 10am, then opened the door without getting a response. I felt really uncomfortable. At check-out, the receptionist didn’t even ask how our stay was. Breakfast could use natural juices like orange or apple, vegan pastries, salmon, and more variety. Most of the meat options were cheap pork sausages or cold cuts, which felt limited for a 4* hotel. The spa was a total letdown: it’s shared with people using a nearby gym, and it was kind of loud. Both saunas and the pool were quite small. The worst part was a strong gasoline smell in the basement between the spa entrance and garage, which made me sick. The room itself was clean, with working gadgets, but small, and the beds weren’t very comfortable.

The location and service were good, and the basics were all in place. Breakfast was good too, including the vegan options. There’s an extensive fitness facility next door, though access costs an extra 5euro.

We had no complaints and would happily come back. The staff were friendly, and we enjoyed drinks in the bar. Breakfast was plentiful, with lots to choose from. Our room faced the main road but was surprisingly quiet, and it was clean, roomy enough, and had comfortable beds. The old town is only about a 10-minute walk, which suited our 2-night stay perfectly.

Breakfast got busy, but the staff kept clearing tables and replenishing the food, and Sunday was quieter than Saturday. We stayed over a long weekend during a May public holiday, and even with the hotel full, service was excellent. The spa and pool cost 5UR per adult, with kids free. We were fine with the fee because it kept the area nice and quiet. We’ll stay here again next time we’re in Dresden.

The location is great, and breakfast was fine with a few hot dishes to choose from. The rooms, though, feel dated, and the woman at reception was unfriendly and didn’t even say hello.
