I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the place didn’t work for me. The rooms were clean and renovated, yet felt really outdated. Breakfast was a typically German spread, with plenty of breakfast meats, cheese, and jam. It cost extra, which was fine, but we had to explain why we hadn’t booked it in advance.

We booked two nights for two adults and brought our toddler’s own travel cot. Getting in was easy at any hour with the access code. Our room had an old-world feel and was clean, with a shower bathroom, bedroom table, TV, and refrigerator/bar. There’s free parking behind the building, and the university is only a few minutes away. The Old Town is farther, but we walked there in about 30 minutes, even with a stroller. We didn’t take the tram, though it’s meant to stop very close by. Our room faced away from the busier main road. Breakfast had limited choices but something for most tastes. We thought it could cost a bit less for what you get. All in all, a budget-friendly place to stay.
