It was a quiet area, so even with the windows open overnight we slept without being disturbed. The only hiccup was how warm the room got. This is a general thing we've noticed in Germany in winter, where places seem to crank up the heat. We turned the thermostats down as far as they went, but still had to open the windows. We like sleeping around 65F, while German restaurants, buildings and hotels seem to be kept around 72-78F. We only had two nights, but they were lovely and relaxing. The spa looked like a nice place to warm up after the Christmas markets, though it seemed to close earlier in the evening, and we didn't have time to check it out. We had a great stay. Check the hotel's own website before booking through a third-party site, since we got a much better deal on rooms and breakfast than our family did through hotels/booking.com and similar sites.

The location was a lovely mix: a quiet street in a charming neighborhood, but still just a short walk from many of Dresden’s main attractions. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, and it was fantastic. We didn't get to the spa or breakfast buffet this time, but hope to try both on our next visit. Our suite was beautiful, with elegant furnishings and a carpet that looked well cared for. Nothing felt worn or outdated. The staff really made the stay, though. They were warm, attentive, professional, and friendly, remembered us, and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and their hospitality made us feel at home. It's a five-star stay in every sense. We can't recommend it enough and will certainly be back!

The service here deserves five stars on its own. During turndown, the staff member went out of their way to set my luggage on the stand and leave a nice towel on the washroom floor. At checkout, someone offered me a bottle of water for the road. Those little touches were incredible. The rooms have an older style, but they're super clean, and the hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the center of Dresden. The surrounding area is nice too, and there's underground parking. Opening the windows does bring in some vehicle noise at night. I appreciated the slippers and the individual bottles of lotion, shampoo and body wash. It's such a relief when hotels provide those instead of gross reusable dispensers.

The sauna and wellness area stood out, spacious, very clean and well kept, and a great place to unwind after sightseeing. The bar was also a nice place to relax, with excellent service. We stayed a few nights at Hotel Bülow Palais and enjoyed it. The outside has a classic historic look, while inside everything is beautifully maintained and feels recently refreshed. Breakfast had a good range of healthy options, with friendly, attentive service. We'd happily return and recommend it.

The restaurant and bar made those five days in Dresden especially memorable. I still remember the onglet, even seven months later, along with the oysters and a regional wine I hadn't expected to like. The bar made one of the best negronis I've had. There was a pianist on the weekends, and I'm always a sucker for a piano bar. It felt relaxing, classy, and still chill. I only had breakfast once, but the head chef who runs it makes those few hours her world. All the staff were lovely. The calm atmosphere suited me. I'm in my late thirties, and the crowd felt more mature, with no one shouting. It was a lovely five days of enjoying life in Dresden. Everything here hit the mark quietly, without pretentiousness or a big announcement. It's one of my top five hotel stays ever, and a great example of still elegance. I had a spacious, relaxing deluxe room with thoughtful furnishings, a decent minibar, a proper hairdryer, and a perfect bathtub. I loved the Molton Brown soaps and bath salts. The short walk to Old Town made it easy to be central while still enjoying a little calm, just a few minutes away from the bustle. A couple of things could be better. The bed was labelled king or queen, but it was two beds joined together, and they kept separating. I would fall through the middle when I rolled over. That would be an issue if I came with my partner, though a solo traveller shouldn't have to deal with it either. For a hotel that gets so much right, that was a miss. The bed shouldn't float apart. The gym barely exists. The machines were old and hardly worked, and the room felt cluttered, like an afterthought. Unless the space is expanded or the equipment upgraded, I'd get rid of the machines and make it a small area for stretching, yoga, or meditation. That would suit the spa better and fit the hotel's image. I wasn't in Dresden for the gym, so it didn't matter much to me, but it's an observation. Even with those two issues, I can't imagine rating my experience anything but 5/5. I look forward to returning in a few months. The food, room, and atmosphere made it a top experience in my travel history.
