Haus Nordseeperle

The view from apartment 11 is priceless, and the location is fantastic. It’s always spotless when I stay there, and the landlords are friendly and accommodating. The best apartment in all of Cuxhaven for me, and absolutely worth the price.

We stayed in apartment 6 at the Nordseeperle holiday home in Duhnen this summer. The sea view from the balcony really is fantastic, but that was the only positive for us. The apartment is sparsely furnished, with no oven, and only enough dishes and glasses for one meal before you have to wash up again. It also wasn’t clean: grease caked on top of the extractor hood, sand in the cupboard, stained carpet, and lots of dust above the cupboards. The Wi-Fi barely worked and was completely unavailable in the bedroom and bathroom. The first evening was especially unpleasant. I arrived at 2 p.m. and parked in the only open space. Around 8 p.m. the property management told me to move immediately and threatened to call the police and tow my car. It turned out spaces were assigned to apartments, but there was no visible number where I’d parked because bushes had overgrown it. No other space had been available when we arrived, and nobody had told us in advance that the parking spots were numbered. Despite that wonderful sea view, I wouldn’t stay in this building again.

The short walk to the beach was great, and our apartment was very clean with everything that had been advertised. The Winklmeier-Eckhardt family were friendly and professional, and communication was easy. Thanks so much! Highly recommended.

Great apartment and a lovely view, but what are you supposed to do if you get COVID? We arrived Saturday and left Tuesday, and were told we couldn’t leave the apartment. How were we meant to get groceries? The rent, parking fee, and visitor’s tax were all lost. I wish we could have agreed on some other arrangement. We didn’t want to infect anyone else, and ended up being punished twice over.
