Hotel Haus Seeschwalbe

We were impressed enough to write this over breakfast at our next stop. We'd certainly stay here again, and thought the price was very reasonable. The hotel is easy to find, right on the main seafront road, and it worked perfectly for visiting Cuxhaven, Neuwerk Island, and Heligoland. The lady at reception welcomed us, helped us, and even walked us to the room. “The boss” also took turns at reception and helped with our bookings. When he wasn't sure about one, he made a note, and the tickets were waiting for us later that day. Some reception staff spoke fluent English, while one spoke enough for us to get by. That isn't the case at all Herman hotels. Our room was at the back, one floor below reception, effectively on the ground floor, with a large patio that nobody else could access. There's a lift as well as stairs. The room was spacious, with a lobby and bathroom, and had a seaside look that wasn't over the top. It was spotless, with plenty of storage, a nice sofa, dressing table, safe, and fridge. There's also a car park behind the hotel with a barrier at the entrance.
